Follow Moses Brown lower school teachers this summer as they explore Native American culture in Montana; volunteer with children from multiple countries in Ireland; meet our student and teacher partners in Kenya; participate in the Library of Congress Summer Institute; and absorb the teachings of Reggio Emilia in Italy. What is Travel with Teachers all about?
At Moses Brown, teacher growth and professional development is among our highest priorities because it ensures that your child will encounter an excellent teacher in every classroom. As head of lower school, I am so excited by the passion and commitment teachers have for further developing their own knowledge and understanding and bringing this back into their classrooms. Our teachers use their summers to immerse themselves in learning so that when they return in the fall, they have new methods for connecting your child to the world beyond Moses Brown. Our hope this year is that this blog will allow colleagues, parents, and students the opportunity to learn and travel with MB teachers. Over the course of a few trips this summer, these faculty will post pictures, videos and journal posts in order to share their learning experiences with us. If you have questions or comments, we hope you will post them! Hands-on learning is happening for our teachers just as it happens for our students – your children – at Moses Brown. We hope you enjoy traveling along side them this summer.
